Week beginning 26.6.17
This week we had a Welsh gymnast called Clinton Purnell come and visit us. He did lots of tricks: somersaults, a forward roll, a backwards roll and a handstand, and then he did all of those together!
He also did forwards and backwards somersaults over Mrs Price!
In Maths this week we learnt about different kinds of data. We used continuous and discrete data and we made some graphs!
Week beginning 19.6.17
In Maths, we translated and reflected shapes on a coordinate grid. We learnt what translation means and found the new coordinates of the shapes.
In English we have wrote our own play scripts about what ever topic we WANT! We have to include everything we have learnt about like colons, stage directions and different scenes.
I really like English it's really fun because Miss Hill makes lessons fun!
In P.E, we did different types of cricket with Mr Alexander. It was so FUN but there was only 9 of us in one lesson because everybody else was bell boating so we got a lot done and we nearly got to self coach (AWESOME) . It was really hot.

On Wednesday 21st June 2017. 10 of us went bellboating again, so there was only 9 people in class 3! Here are the people that went: Edward, Aaron, Rachel, Sam, Harry, Jack, Emi, Luca and Edie. We came second in the year 5s!. We even got a plaque signed by David Train the inventor of bell boats!The people who went got a certificate saying how good they are.

Week beginning 12.6.17
On Wednesday, Gabriel ,Edward ,Jack ,Edie and Rachel went to a poetry event at Bengeworth. They wrote poetry using music as inspiration.
We all did African dancing and drumming on Thursday with a person called Carys.
In Maths, we've been leaning about coordinates and angles.
We did a treasure hunt using coordinates to help us find the treasure.
We've been learning cricket in P.E and also bowling.
We've been doing art involved with the summer fair like cakes for a competition. We have also been making cards for Fathers Day.
This week we have enjoyed:

Week beginning 5.6.17
It has been the first week back after half term and it has been a very busy week!
In English this week we have started to look at play scripts. We have been acting out some scripts, and picking out the different features that they have in them.
In Maths we have been learning about 2D and 3D shapes. We have learnt what right angles, acute angles, obtuse angles and reflex angles are, and have been finding these in shapes.
We played a game where we had to guess the shape by only asking questions with a yes or no answer.
We have been spending some of our afternoons this week rehearsing for the school performance. We are starting to learn the songs with class 2 as well, ready for our performance to parents at the end of term.
We have been talking about British Values this week and have been looking at what democracy is.
We learnt about all the parties running in the general election and we even came up with our own parties and manifestos! We made a prediction as a class about who would win in the general election. We found out on Friday that we were nearly right!
Week beginning 22.5.17
In English, we have been creating our own instructions for bell boating. We had to include the equipment, safety advice, top tips and at least 6 different steps. Here are some pictures of our work:
In maths this week we have been finding the missing lengths of shapes when we know the area and perimeter. We also learnt about capacity, volume and mass. We made estimates of how much water is in a container and of how much different objects weigh.
In topic this week we have made top trumps cards about different rivers in the world. We have been comparing the lengths of rivers and finding out different fats about them.
On Tuesday, the worship committee performed The Unforgiving Steward. They acted it out and we discussed the morals of the story.
In collective worship, we have also discussed the sad events in Manchester this week. We have written some prayers for the people affected by this.
In Art, we finished our river pictures. We used water colours, pencil and acrylic paint.

We played some cricket on Monday.There were two groups , The Batters and Fielders.
Each group would swap over and take turns earning points for our team. it was a tie until group 1 won the game but we both agreed that both teams persevered and tried their best.
On Tuesday, we performed the poems that we wrote last week. After we performed them, Miss Hill evaluated them and told us what she thought about it. Now we are looking at Instructions and Imperative verbs.
In Maths, we have been learning about area and perimeter of shapes. We learnt that to find the perimeter you have to measure and add up all the sides. For area, you multiply the length and width.
We found the area and perimeter of objects around the classroom.
In P.E, we did jumping from leg to leg to train for the long jump because we have been looking at mini Olympics.
So far, we've done: jumping over things,
, running long jumps , hopping over things.

Week Beginning 8.5.17
Our focus this week in English has been writing our own poems based on the poems of Benjamin Zephaniah such as 'I Love Me Mother' and we have done some versions such as:
I love me father
I love me five kittens
I love me hog
I love me brother
and many more.
We have also based some poems on a poem called 'This is football '
our versions were:
This is Minecraft
This is racing
and of course many more.
I think we have all enjoyed our poem writing this week.
In maths this week our focus was mostly on time: we have been reading analogue and digital times.
In digital time we have been converting 24 hour and 12 hour times e.g.(18:00-6:00 pm).
looking at times was very fascinating and we have been applying this to different types of timetables.

On Thursday we went Bell boating! We learnt how to hold our oars properly and even met the inventor of the Bell boat: David Train. We had a great time and even went into a lock and saw the water rise and fall! Here are some pictures of us in the lock:

This week in our English lessons we have been writing our own poetry!
We have been studying the poem Gran Can You Rap? We have picked out lots of features of Performance Poetry like alliteration and onomatopoeia and we have written our own versions of this poem, about our own family members and animals. We performed our poems to the class, trying to add in expression and actions to make them entertaining.

In Maths, we have been learning about time. We have been using analogue and digital clocks, and have been thinking about why we have so many different types of clock and what they are used for.
In our topic, we have begun to think about our Geography topic of Rivers. We have learnt all about the water cycle. We learnt about condensation, evaporation and precipitation, and why water is so important to humans, plants and animals.
Week beginning 24.4.17
Hi guys, This week on Tuesday, Class 3 went to Prince Henry's High School to sing lots of songs. Our song was Believe. We were joined by lots of other schools like: Badsey, Swan lane, St Marys, Harvington, St Richards, St Andrews and Bengeworth. Mrs Price gave us a Headteacher's Award for our singing!
On Thursday in Science, Year 5's had the afternoon about puberty! Year 4 learnt about animal life cycles and food chains. We discussed the meaning of words such as predators and prey.
In English, we have been learning about Performance Poetry. We have studied Michael Rosen's poems 'Strict' and 'Michael Rosen Rap' and looked at the features of these. On Friday we performed a Class 3 version of the poem 'Gran Can You Rap?'.
In Maths, we have been looking at different types of measures. We have been converting between different types of measures, and weighing different objects.
