Autumn 2 2020
We started our new half term with RE days. We were looking at the question 'who do Christians say made the world?'
We started by going outside and looking at the wonderful things around us. We created palettes of colours that we found.
We retold the creation story through dance too.
We had lots of fun. Come back to see what else we get up to!
We have been looking at adding and subtracting in maths this half term. We are learning lots of different methods as well as problem solving. Here we are working together to solve money problems.
In history we became detectives to look for clues about The Gunpowder Plot. We had to look at different sources and decide which was the best at proving what we know about Guy Fawkes and the other plotters! We found out that Guy Fawkes died in a really horrible way! We have been learning more about the Stuart Monarchs too.
In English we have been looking at the story Little Red Reading Hood. Before we wrote a description of Red walking through the woods on her way to return her book to the library we went outside to think about what she might see, hear, smell, taste and touch. We wrote down our observations and then used this to write brilliant descriptions.
We've also been doing science this half term. We have been exploring different materials and why we use different materials for different jobs. We carried out an experiment to see which materials are conductors of heat and which insulate.
We also explored different ways we could shape clay. We used scientific language to explain what we were doing. We also had lots of fun!
