Autumn 1 2020
We have had a brilliant start back to Class 2 and Mrs Contardi, Mrs Walsh and Miss Molloy are very proud of us all!
We are going to be learning about Henry VIII to start with and we have already found out lots of fascinating facts about him! Ask us about the best job in Tudor times!!
We have started off reading the story King Henry VIII's Shoes in English and have written some amazing sentences using time adverbials, repetition, adjectives and similes!
In maths we have been counting, writing numbers in words and numerals and learning about place value. We will move on to adding and subtracting soon. Below are some pictures of us playing a game with a pack of cards. We had to add 1, subtract 1, add ten or subtract 10 depending on which suit we picked up.
On Friday's we learn about The Arts with Miss Molloy. We study art, drama, music, history of music and DT. It is lots of fun.
We've had some weird weather recently with rain, sun and hail all in one day! The children saw a rainbow out of the window so we all went outside to look at it and think about how it was formed.
On 2nd October we won Oswald the Owl! This was because 90% of us had read 4 or more times during the week and that was the highest percentage out of all the classes! Well done Class 2. They chose a class disco for their reward.
Here are some pictures of us working hard in English, maths and PE this half term.
We have got really efficient at washing our hands. We make sure we do so between lessons and before and after break and lunch.
We all worked really hard to write non-chronological reports about Henry VIII. We then chose our favourite part of our report and wrote it up for display. Mrs Contardi was very proud of our work!
We have also been having Nicky from Relax Kids come in and work with us. We really enjoy the whole class sessions and they will be continuing next half term too!
We learn relaxation techniques as well as mindfulness and how we can control our emotions.
We've had a fabulous half term!
