Spring 2026

Spring 2 2026

Welcome back to school after the half-term holiday. Our next topic is 'Real life superheroes!' where we learn more about fantasy and real life heroes from the past and today. We are also hoping to meet some real life superheroes too!

Please follow the links below to our half-term plan of learning and letter to parents/carers:

On Wednesday 25th February we had a visit from a police officer and a PCSO. They told us all about their jobs as real life superheroes. They let us look at all of their gadgets and uniform, we even tried on their hats and jackets. The children were able to look at the police car and learn about their body cams and radios. We were very impressed with the questions that the children asked that really made the officers think!

Please check back to see what we have been learning!

Spring 1 2026

Welcome back to school after the Christmas break! We have a very exciting half-term of learning coming up following our topic of 'The Cold'. Please follow the links below to our half-term plan and topic plan.

We have had some great sessions at forest school so far. We had been learning all about the race to the South Pole between two great explorers, Roald Amundsen from Norway and Captain Robert Scott from the UK. During our forest school session, we split into two teams and had to complete different activities on our journey to the South Pole. It was a great race!

We have been working really hard in our maths lessons. The children in reception have been practising their adding up number sentences using lots of different methods.

We have been working really hard in our English lessons to write our own books about the Polar regions. The children were asked to make a front cover, to make a page of information about the Arctic, a page about the Antarctic and then the Year 1 pupils also wrote a glossary page. They looked at features of non-fiction books to understand what they needed on each page such as a title, information and a picture with a caption.
