Autumn 2 2024

Welcome back after the half term break! We have lots of exciting learning coming up this term, which we are excited to share with you all.  

To finish our topic on Henry VIII, Class 2 participated in a Tudor workshop.

They had Queen Elizabeth I join us in school, who taught the children what it was like to be a Tudor and living in the Tudor period. The children got to take part in some Tudor drama (looking at crimes and punishment), looking at artefacts, jousting and Tudor dancing. They even got knighted by the Queen herself! 

What a great end to our History topic. They all had a blast!   

In our RE topic we have been looking at 'What is the good news Christians say Jesus brings?'. 

In our lesson we went over to visit the church to find how and where Christians could find friendship, peace and forgiveness in the church. 

Class 2 had so many great thoughts and ideas which even linked to some of the Bible stories we have been looking at.  

Autumn 1 2024

Welcome to Class 2 for the first half of the Autumn term!

We are all thrilled to welcome back some familiar faces who have moved into year 3 and new ones moving up into year 2! We have lots of great activities planned throughout the term across all areas of the curriculum and we look forward to sharing our successes in Class 2. 

Class 2 have been exploring the Creation story in our RE lessons. The children retold day 6 of the creation story through artwork and used water paint for their creations.  

In our History lessons we have been learning all about Henry VIII and his life before and during his time as king. As mini historians we have compiled together all the information we have learnt to create a fact file for Hampton Court Palace. 

The children had an amazing time making apple crumbles in DT this term. They got to learn lots of important skills such as reading instructions carefully, using a knife safely, mixing ingredients and using the correct technique to make the crumble topping. 

They all did such a fantastic job and made some very yummy looking apple crumbles!
