Week 3

Monday 17th January 2022

We looked at the features of an Anglican church and talked about how a service is held in church. We watched a great video clip and talked about all the important features we recognised. We learnt that service is talking and having time for God.

Tuesday 23rd January 2022

Our Worship Committee delivered Collective Worship today and acted out 6 Bible stories which showed service to others. The audience had to guess the 6 acts and they were all guessed correctly!!

The Bible stories were:

*Noah's Ark where Noah showed service to God by carrying out his message and for providing an ark for the animals.

*Jesus Feeding the 5000 where he shows service to his people by sharing 2 fishes and 5 loaves

*The Magi ( 3Wise Men) following the star with gifts for the new Messiah.

*Angel Gabriel visiting Mary and showing service to God by delivering a very important message.

* Jesus heals the paralysed man. Jesus  showed service by listening to the friends who had brought the man and then by healing him.

*The Good Samaritan where the traveller was beaten and stripped of clothes and goods. The Priest and Levite walked by but the Samaritan stopped and helped the traveller showing service of support.

Wednesday 19th January

Class worship looking at why service is important and what services are paid and voluntary. All classes looked at the emphasis on helping others.

Thursday 20th January

Open the Book in church told the story of Jesus feeding the 5000 with 5 loaves and 2 fishes. The children really enjoyed and understood the message of the story especially as they have heard it recently by the Worship Committee. Children commented on the value of sharing with others and a little goes a long way.
